To the south of the Hüttberg, which is the highest point in Schrattenthal, lies the Inner Bergen vineyard. Here the slopes are steeper and the soil barren and stony. This top location is between 270 and 300 m above sea level and faces south. The subsoil consists of granite with a very small amount of humus. The Riesling shows its whole class on this prehistoric site. Here, too, we have planted various old selections of Riesling vines.
- Complex scent of flowers and ripe stone fruit, herbal spices with a hint of mineral, delicate smoky notes that clearly come from the terroir, a lot of melting on the palate, juicy fruits and apricots, lively acidity, stimulating spiciness, enormous depth, needs time in the glass, long, powerful finish .
- Goes perfectly with grilled meat dishes, goose, duck and game fowl, fatter fish such as salmon and catfish, sushi and sashimi, as well as more mature white mold and red cheese
